As of July 8, 2020, Wisconsin continues to report the lowest percentage of positive COVID-19 tests among the five midwestern states with 5.6% of the tests returning positive. Indiana continues to have the highest percentage of positive cases in the midwest at 9.2%. Wisconsin’s percentage of positive tests is below the median for all states.
Illinois is leading the Midwest with 14.3% of the population being tested for COVID-19. Wisconsin has tested 10.88% of the population, which is above the median for all states (9.99%). The midwest has tested 11.71% of the population.
The median for all states and Wisconsin have both seen a decreasing trend of the percentage of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, as well as the rate of hospitalized patients being admitted to the ICU.
