HJI Announces Merger with The Benefit Services Group (BSG)

We are excited to announce our merger with The Benefit Services Group, Inc. (BSG®) effective April 17, 2017.

BSG is an employee benefits and wellness consulting, data analytics, and brokerage firm. They are nationally recognized to get to the core of what is driving clients’ plan cost and offer solutions to controlling those drivers. BSG has been providing these services for 30 years and is located in Pewaukee, WI.

BSG has provided data analytic services to several of our clients and collaborated on larger, self-insured clients. Servicing these large accounts together created a strong partnership. During this working relationship, it became apparent that clients of both companies would benefit from the distinctly different services each company has to offer.

We continue to build upon our strengths of being a multi-faceted, service-focused agency. Combining our expertise with BSG’s data analytics expertise and wellness consulting allows us to bring a far greater range of services to our current and prospective clients.

BSG and HJI merged through a newly created holding company. I will remain President while Jerry Frye, President of BSG, will be the CEO. Tim Hausmann will remain Chairman of the Board. HJI’s Madison office and BSG’s Pewaukee office will continue to operate relatively independent of each other, continuing to focus on our main areas of strength, while having the ability to draw upon the service offerings of the other to meet clients’ needs. As both companies have strong brand identities in the insurance and employee benefits market, the plan is for each to retain their current names and branding for the immediate future.

The culture we have created with our clients and our employees will not change. We take enormous pride in the collaborative work environment we’ve created and the relationships we’ve established with our clients. It was important to our agency that we only enter into a growth opportunity with a company that shares a similar mission, vision and values. I expect there will be many great possibilities for both companies, and our clients, because of this venture.

Our commitment to our clients’ success will always remain our number one priority and was the driving force behind this merger. Everything we do is to make sure our clients receive what they need to continue to grow and be successful – BSG now joins with us in that mission.

Please reach out to me if you have further questions about BSG and our expanded services.

Thank You.
