CHRIS HOVDEN

Chris joined Hausmann Group in 2025, bringing 17 years of surety experience as both an underwriter and an agent. Throughout his career, Chris has advised and supported construction clients across nearly every facet of the industry, working with organizations ranging in size from $1 million to more than $1 billion in annual revenue. His broad perspective allows him to understand the unique challenges contractors face at every stage of growth.

Chris is known for his ability to get things done, solve complex problems, and leverage deep industry and carrier relationships to support his clients. He takes a consultative, strategic approach to managing surety programs, combining extensive market knowledge with a strong focus on each client’s goals. Chris is passionate about helping construction companies grow and succeed. He loves to use his experience and network to maximize each client’s surety program and align them with the best surety markets to support their needs.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family. He can be found golfing, playing hockey, cooking, or cheering on his children at their activities. He also enjoys traveling with his wife, Amy, and their five kids whenever possible.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and an MBA from Texas A&M University–Commerce. He previously served as President of the Surety Association of Wisconsin and remains actively involved in AGC, CFMA, WTBA, and the Surety Association of Wisconsin.
