A 2017 New Year’s Resolution: Commit to Reviewing your Life Insurance Plan

Many people are uncomfortable discussing the topic of life insurance, and all too often it’s avoided until it is too late. Here are 10 reasons why you should review and update your life insurance plan this year:

  1. It’s not about you, it’s about the family that is left behind.

  2. Death doesn’t have to mean debt for your loved ones.

  3. A “Go Fund Me” page may help with immediate needs, but it’s not the answer.

  4. You may qualify for life insurance now, but there’s no guarantee you will in the future.

  5. Once you have life insurance and continue to pay the premiums, it can’t be taken away from you if you become terminally ill.

  6. Many of the life insurance policies issued today have an option for a living rider which allows you to access the death benefit before death if you have a terminal illness.

  7. Life insurance premiums are much lower than they used to be.

  8. The right type of life insurance is the type that is in force at the time of death.

  9. Do you have life insurance through work? Great! That’s a good start, now get some of your own. There’s no guarantee that you’ll stay with the same company throughout your working life

  10. Don’t procrastinate on this, it’s too important!
