Diana Schmidt brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Property & Casualty Consultant for Hausmann Group. She joined the team in 2017, with 15 years of property and casualty underwriting and claim experience. She spent a decade of her insurance career as a multi-line underwriting officer at Travelers, where she created guaranteed cost and alternative risk financing programs for large manufacturing and technology risks. In this role, Diana excelled at building trusting relationships, designing robust coverage programs, and collaborating with risk control and claim partners to help clients control their total cost of risk.

Diana thrives on being a true advocate, risk manager and problem-solver for her clients. She utilizes her insurance knowledge, experience, and philosophy of continuous improvement to challenge the status quo and bring a unique, strategic advantage to her clients. Diana was recognized for her value-driven, customer centric approach when she was nominated by a client and selected for the 2021 Biz Times Milwaukee “Notable Women in Insurance” Award.

Diana holds a Master of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University as well as bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Sociology & Legal Studies. She is a designated Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has earned designations in Underwriting (AU), Claims (AIC) & Reinsurance (ARe). In 2020, Diana completed the Associate Captive Insurance (ACI), Alternative Risk program, through the International Center for Insurance Captive Education (ICCIE). In 2023, Diana earned the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) Designation from the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI). Diana is currently working towards the Certified Risk Manager designation (CRM) from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.

Diana enjoys experiencing life with her husband and twin boys and can often be found playing volleyball or training for triathlons. She volunteers her time as Chair of the Parish Council at St. Leonard Catholic Church, serves as Vice President of the Board for Blessings in a Backpack - Waukesha County and was recently appointed to the NARI Milwaukee Foundation Board.
