PCORI Fee – Timing Matters

If you sponsor a self‑funded health plan, level‑funded plan, HRA, or ICHRA with a plan year that ended in 2025, your PCORI fee filing and payment are due by July 31, 2026.

Although enrollment data may already be available, do not file or pay yet. The IRS has not released the updated Form 720 required for the 2025 PCORI fee. Filing with an outdated form can result in errors, delays, or penalties.

What to do now:

• Gather enrollment counts
• Wait for the IRS to update Form 720 (typically late May or June)
• File and pay once the correct form is available, before July 31, 2026
