The Illinois amendment stating that employees in an “essential” industry who contract COVID-19 are covered by worker’s compensation was repealed by the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission in an unanimous vote on April 27, 2020. Some individuals interviewed in the Business Insurance article below suggest there could be a future executive order by the Illinois governor, so there may be additional changes ahead.
